During the autumn and winter of 2024/2025, thanks to the support of Signatur, Cirkus Cirkör is able to offer elementary schools in Botkyrka a real circus party!
Circus de Luxe
Over the course of four weeks, four schools and around 1120 children will be visited by Cirkus Cirkör at school with a show and subsequent workshop. In the ‘Circus de Luxe’ concept, children and teachers are introduced to the world of circus, both artistically and pedagogically. The project will be extended into the new year 2025 with free courses during the Christmas and sports holidays.
Seeing Cirkör’s professional artists perform fantastic tricks, and then getting to try out the tricks yourself, awakens great curiosity about circus as both an art form and a form of training. In the world of the circus, there is something for everyone, and children often dare more than they first thought.
After School Circus
Circus de Luxe is a pilot project that aims to identify schools in the area that have the capacity and willingness to host an ‘After School Circus’ project from 2025 onwards, and to introduce circus to children, teachers and adults in schools. Through free holiday courses that are close in time to the visit, children who have shown an immediate interest are captured.
The planned upcoming After School Circus project is intended as a three-year project in northern Botkyrka with the aim of contributing to integration, increased security and togetherness, as well as strengthening children’s self-esteem and ability to cooperate in a meaningful leisure time.
