DoubleMusic
Mötesplats Mariatorget (“Meeting place Mariatorget”), run by Stockholms Stadsmission, is a new cultural venue where everyone is welcome. In the renovated premises of a former church, located in the Stockholm district of Södermalm, the DoubleMusic concert series is launched in 2025, following the support granted to the project in the 2025 Signatur grant Programme.
The project aims to further the work of Stockholms Stadsmission by developing an actively inclusive, high-quality and interesting cultural scene open to everyone. Mötesplats Mariatorget works actively to bring together people with very different living conditions, creating encounters around food, activities, community involvement, popular education and, not least, culture, all of the highest possible quality.
Artistic director Rebecka Törnkvist is curator of the DoubleMusic programme, in which two concerts with contrasting and/or complementary expressions and traditions are combined into a full evening. The aim is to present parts of the audience – frequent concert attendees or not – with experience music they have not previously come into close contact with, so that the project will reach people outside the expected target group
The concert series invites people with a curious mind to experience music in a beautiful, welcoming and inclusive environment. The project reserves reduced price tickets for members of “Matmissionen”, Stadmissionen’s social supermarket.

About Stockholms Stadsmission
Stockholms Stadsmission is a non-profit organisation working to create a more humane society for all. This is done through social care, labour integration, housing and education with a focus on children and adults in socio-economic vulnerability in Stockholm. Stockholms Stadsmission provides both acute support and works for long-term change by empowering participants. Mötesplats Mariatorget is Stockholms Stadsmission’s place for community and social engagement, where everyone is welcome. At Mötesplats Mariatorget (“Meeting place Mariatorget”) conversations, knowledge exchange and meetings take place between people in different life situations. The meeting place works to ensure that people in social vulnerability have an opportunity to participate in cultural life and social debate.
