The Blueprint
Changers Hub has been granted support in Signatur Foundation Sweden’s 2025 grant programme for their proposal The Blueprint, an initiative that aims to professionalise young creators in the music industry through training, networking and practical experience. The project is being implemented in Botkyrka and is aimed at young people from socio-economically disadvantaged areas, but the methodology will also be disseminated to Gothenburg. Through tailor-made training programmes, coaching and studio time, participants gain tools to establish themselves and create long-term, sustainable careers in the music industry.
Concrete opportunities for self-sufficiency in music
Many young people lack access to the resources, networks and knowledge needed to establish themselves in the industry. Particularly in socio-economically disadvantaged areas, there are few structured opportunities for a professional path into the music industry. The Blueprint meets this need by offering participants guidance, strengthening their networks and demonstrating concrete opportunities for self-sufficiency through music.
The Blueprint is based on a holistic approach where participants are provided with both theoretical and practical knowledge to strengthen and increase their confidence in a sustainable career in the music industry.
The project funded by Signatur will offer:
– Training programmes: Workshops in music licensing (SYNC), artist management (MGMT) and PR and data analysis. These training programmes are led by industry experts and provide participants with insights into the business aspects of the music industry.
– Networking & Live events: A platform where young musicians can meet industry professionals, network and showcase their music to a wider audience.
– Networking Group: A forum where representatives from the music industry and civil society work together to strengthen support structures for young creators
– Individual Coaching: Participants receive personalised guidance on career strategy and technical development
– Studio activities: Changers Studio gives young people access to a professional studio with opening hours that suit the target group
– Marketing & methodology dissemination: the project develops digital materials and communication efforts to engage the target group and disseminate the methodology nationally.
Entrepreneurial and creative opportunities
The Blueprint is integrated into Changers Hub’s broader activities, where the focus is on giving young people from outside central Stockholm and Gothenburg access to entrepreneurial and creative opportunities. Through partnerships with business and organisations, long-term and sustainable impacts are created for participants.
The Blueprint is a one-year initiative starting in March 2025. Over the course of the project period 60-80 participants are expected to undergo training, around 100-150 people will participate in networking and live events, and around 15 young people will receive individual coaching. One of the main objectives is for participants to expand their professional networks and thus increase their chances of self-sufficiency and employment in the music industry. The project will conclude with an evaluation focusing on methodological dissemination and further development of the model in order to ensure long-term impact.
